a visual diary of Gus' trip to Rhinebeck, NY
Mark, Eddie and I went to New York to stay at the Omega
Institute for Holistic Studies in the summer of 2005.  We
camped for two months sharing the banks of a small pond
with geese, opossums, deer, and many other creatures.  Our
meals were free, and we got to take many classes-art and
meditation at no charge; our job was to help create sacred
space for those who were there to learn.  We had a
wonderful time in the woods and streams, making art and
creating sacred spaces for Omega visitors to grow in.

I met Deborah Koff-Chapin at a lecture she gave on
Touch Drawing.  I am a better person for the meeting,
and my art and soul have grown immensely.  Mark did a
couple of touch drawings, but I think Eddie wasn't
interested.
There were many
beautiful places to
meditate, and some of
these places were with
others and some were
secluded.  We took full
advantage of them.
Eddie even learned to scry with a crystal ball.
We found an answer to the age-old question.
And we had time for
recreation.
We made art, too.  We studied with Alex Grey and
sang with Bobby McFerrin.  We also made a
signature pole, where we left our names and some
symbols, magic of course, in hopes that others
continue adding things to it.

the signature pole.
Construction.
And painting.
